Classwork and Homework

Alsalamu Alaikum,

Today we had a great day alhamdulilah!

Reading: Students sat on the carpet and I read If I Built a Car for the third time.

Spelling: Students read the new list words and put them in sentences. They filled in the missing letters to complete the list words in their spelling books.

Math: We sat on the carpet and explored different 3-D shapes. Students completed a worksheet identifying 2-D and 3-D shapes.

Social Studies: Students played (Who am I?) They read job descriptions and matched them to the correct jobs.

Islamic Studies: We sang a nasheed about the Prophet (SAW).

Homework: 

  • Draw three 2-D figures and write the number of corners and sides each figure has.
  • Homework pack (due on Tuesday)
  • Story Response Log (Your child will retell If I Built a Car)
  • Read a story a day.
Reminders: 
  • Please make sure you have your child pray with you at home.
  • Students have a spelling quiz on Monday. Don't forget to use Spelling City!
  • Today students took their school pictures.

Classwork and Homework

Alsalamu Alakium,

Today we had a wonderful day alhamdulilah!

Writing: Students wrote sentences using positional words. They read sentences and they matched them to the correct pictures.

Spelling: Students completed sentences in their spelling books using the correct list words. They wrote opposites and they unscrambled the list words.

Math: Students cut out and pasted pictures in the correct place after reading the directions (positional words)
          Students worked in groups to make monsters using 2-D figures. Our Math buddies joined us today!

Art: Students divided their canvases into 2-D figures using tape. Next week we will start painting our canvases in shaa Allah!

Homework: Read a story. In shaa Allah tomorrow I will be asking students about the title of the story they read and the characters in their story.

  •  This week I will be looking at students' behaviour with respect to responsibility and I will be evaluating their performance.

Classwork and Homework

Today we had a great day alhamdulilah!

Reading: Sr. Madlien came to class and students designed their folders where they will be placing the worksheets they complete with Sr. Madlien (Story Log)

I read If I Built a Car for the second time.

Writing: Students wrote sentences about being responsible (I am Responsible)

Math: Math book pages 137 and 138.

Homework:
  • Pray Maghrib and Isha.
  • Homework pack (due on Tuesday)
  • Math book pages 137 and 138.
  • Read a story.
  • Students may design a car to show to the class tomorrow. (using 2-D figures)


Reminders:
  •  This week I will be looking at students' behaviour with respect to responsibility and I will be evaluating their performance.
