Classwork and Homework

Alsalamu Alaikum,

Today we had a wonderful day alhamdulilah!

Spelling: IB joined us and Tr. Jessica read Round Is a Mooncake (A Book Of Shapes)

Math: Students made clocks using paper plates.

Science: We watched a video to learn some facts about camping and we talked about the types of energy we use at home and the energy we use when camping. Students completed a worksheet to show what we can use and can't use when camping.

Islamic Studies: Students answered questions about Prophet Muhammed (SAW) in their I Love Islam workbook.

Homework: Pray
                    Play Mariam's game (Symmetry Game)
                    Homework pack (due on Tuesday)
                    Read the book Polar Bear.

Reminders:
  • Students have a spelling quiz on Monday. Don't forget to use Spelling City.
  • Make sure your child has the Read With Me form #2 on Monday.
  • Sign your child's Science work and send it to school on Monday.

Classwork and Homework

Alsalamu Alaikum,

Today we had a lovely day alhamdulilah!

Writing: Students learned about the 5Ws +1. We learned to begin a question with a capital letter and end it in a full stop. They wrote questions in their writing notebooks using question words.

Math: Students took turns to show the time on the board. Math book page 218. Our Math buddies joined us today!

Art: Students watched a video about  symmetry painting. Then they did their own symmetry painting.

Homework: Pray Maghrib and Isha.

                   Read a story.

Reminders: Tomorrow is the deadline to submit the hot lunch form in shaa Allah.

Classwork and Homework

Alsalamu Alaikum,

Today we had a wonderful day alhamdulilah!

Language Arts: Students completed their worksheet about The Friend. We discussed some questions as a class. We talked about some of the lovely stories Sr. Madlien read to us for our story log and we watched a video about Max's Words and The Curious Garden.

Math: Students took turns to show the time on the board. Math book page 217.

Science: We joined 1B and we talked about the different ways we use energy at home. Students looked at a picture of a house in their Science book and they discussed the different types of energy we use every day.

Today we took a tour around the school and we visited Grade six! We got to see some of their lovely work too!

Homework: Pray Maghrib and Isha.

Reminder:
  • If you would like your child to take part in the lunch program and you have not sent the money, please make sure you send it by Friday.

Classwork and Homework

Alsalamu Alaikum,

Today we had a wonderful day alhamdulilah!

Reading: We joined 1B! Students sat on the carpet and Tr. Jessica read The Friend.

Math: Math book pages 215 and 216.

Science: Students matched pictures to their sources of energy. We talked about how the sun is a very important source of energy. Students took a worksheet and they drew pictures to show how the sun can help us.

Gym: We played a game with the basket ball where students tried to score points by throwing the basket ball in the net.

Islamic Studies: We talked about Prophet Muhammed (SAW) and his good manners. Students answered questions about the Prophet (SAW) in their I Love Islam workbooks. We sang a nasheed about Prophet Muhammed (SAW).

Homework: Pray Maghrib and Isha.
                   Math book pages 215 and 216 (Home Connection)
                   Read a story.

Reminders: 
  • This week I will be looking at students' behaviour with respect to Collaboration and I will be evaluating their performance.
  • If you have not sent the Read With Me form for week one, please make sure you send it with your child tomorrow.
