NO HOMEWORK FOR THE WINTER BREAK!

Dearest Parents,

We hope you and your families are well and in good health…

We just wanted to let you know that even though we did not send formal homework with the students to do over the break, we do encourage you to spend valuable time with you son/daughter. 

·         Take the time to do lots of reading with your child.  It would be great to read on a daily basis. 

·         Encourage your child to sound out on his/her own when writing.  May be you can have a winter break diary.

·         Have a discussion with your child about anything that might interest him/her.

·         Give your child a chance to express himself/herself by doing some art.

Assalamu Alaikum

This past Scholastic Book Fair was a huge success, Alhamdulillah!

I would like to offer a big heartfelt thank you to all the parents, students and teachers for their tremendous generosity.

The library made in net sales $3059.04. The total cash commission that stays in the library was for an amount of $917.71.  As a result, we've purchased new library material that will benefit each and every student in their quest for learning.

Please send an extra pair of socks with your child.
Please put the pair of socks in a small bag in your daughter's/son's school bag...
Your child will be using the extra pair of socks in case we go out and it is wet and slushy outside!

I have been noticing snacks that are not as healthy as they should be...

سيتم إن شاء الله في الاسبوع القادم ،  تقويم مستوى الطالب في قراءة  ما تم دراسته ، للتعرف على نقاط القوة  ونعززها ، و على نقاط الضعف و نقومها .

 و لذلك سيكون الثلاثاء القادم الموافق 11 / 12 اختبار قراءة في الحروف و المقاطع و الكلمات ، المرسلة مع الطالب في ورقة الواجب ( مراجعة و تثبيت ) .

نحن انتهينا حتى الان من دراسة جميع الدروس المتعلقة بالحروف الاتية : م – ك – ب – ت – ر –  ل – (الهمزة ء ) و الهاء ...

 وسيتم تقويم الطالب على النقاط التالية :

*معرف أسماء الحروف المذكورة دون تردد .

* اللفظ الصحيح لهذه الحروف مع حركات التشكيل ( الفتحة – الكسرة – الضمة – السكون – التنوين بأنواعه – ومع المدود أيضا ) كما موضح في ورقة الواجب ( مراجعة و تثبيت ) .

*القراءة  الصحيحة للمقاطع ، و الكلمات الموضحة.

Parent-Teacher interviews a great success!

Grade 8 Graduation Chocolate Sale

 Assalamu Alaikum Dear Students and Parents,

The grade 8 students will be selling chocolates in an effort to fundraise for their graduation. We will be selling boxes of chocolate during snack and lunch times. The chocolates are nut-free and come in a variety of flavours. The price is $2.50 per box. Please send exact change. The chocolates will be sold every Wednesday insha Allah. We are very grateful for your generosity and support!

نحن الان في صدد ( درس هدى تحضر المائدة ) الخاص بحرف الهاء بأشكاله المختلفة ، تزود الطالب من خلاله بالعديد من المفردات اللغوية ، و تعلم حوار خطابي متعلق بموضوع الدرس ، تعرف على أشكال حرف الهاء المختلفة حسب موقعها من الكلمة ، تدرب على اللفظ الصحيح لحرف الهاء مع حركات التشكيل ( الفتحة – الكسرة – الضمة – السكون – تنوين الضم و الفتح و الكسر ) و المدود .... قرأ العديد من المقاطع و المفردات المختلفة ، و قرأ أيضا الجملة الخاصة بالدرس ، والتي نراجع من خلالها أيضا الحروف التي درست سابقا .

 و الحقيقة أنني فخورة بالمستوى الجيد الذي وصل إليه معظم التلاميذ في قراءة الحروف و المقاطع و الجمل ، جعلهم الله  جميعا من الصالحين الابرار ... آمين

التَّحِيَّاتُ للهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ، السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ، السَّلامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِيْنَ. أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلَهََ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُه ُُ وَرَسُوْلُهُ

Translitaration:

At-Taĥīyātu Lillāhi Wa Aş-Şalawātu Wa Aţ-Ţayyibātu, As-Salāmu `Alayka 'Ayyuhā An-Nabīyu Wa Raĥmatu Allāhi Wa Barakātuhu, As-Salāmu `Alaynā Wa `Alá `Ibādika Aş-Şāliĥīna. 'Ash/hadu 'An Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā Al-Lhu, Wa 'Ash/hadu 'Anna Muĥammadāan `Abduhu Wa Rasūluhu.

Translation:

‘At-tahiyyat is for Allah. All acts of worship and good deeds are for Him. Peace and the mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you O Prophet. Peace be upon us and all of Allah’s righteous servants. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.’

At-tahiyyat: all words which indicate the glorification of Allah. His eternal existence, His perfection and His sovereignty.

 

Bully Awareness Week

We are reading stories, exchanges experiences, watching videos, reading poems, etc. 

If we are not careful, we are finding out that it is very easy to become a bully... 

If you have any materials at home that is in a way related to bullying, please feel free to send it with your child!

 

Spelling Test notebooks sent home...

Dearest Parents,

Please have a look at the spelling tests we had.  Please take the time to share the results of the tests with your child, go over the mistakes together, and put your initials (or signature) on each page.  Please return the spelling notebooks, as soon as possible, by Thursday, November 15^th the latest.  I would suggest that you put the spelling notebook in the pouch, right away, so that you do not forget it.
